Liguria's food always looks coulored; basically all of these dishes have not the same aspect because of the colors. Green is the one that mainly appears on the restaurant's tables; green like basil leaves and all of the hundreds erbs populating Ligurian hills.
The most famous recipe is Pesto sauce made of basil leaves, garlic, nuts and pine nut.
Other typical food are "Torta pasqualina" and "Cima". The first is made of artichoke, mushrooms and erbs covered by a thin layer of pasta while "Cima" is a sac shaped meat container in which can be found a mix of meat, peas, artichokes, eggs etc.
Trenette al pesto is what Ligurian people normally call their preferred dish followed by "Stocche" (stockfish), "Cappon magro" (fish based dish) and all of the famous appetizisers.
Famous wines from Liguria are Rossese, Cermentino, Coronata and Vino delle Cinque Terre.
