How to get to Liguria


By Car

By train

The railway of Liguria follows the track of the highways almost completely. The line from Ventimiglia to La Spezia is linked to Torino from Savona and Genoa, to Milan from Genoa and to Parma from La Spezia. The same line keeps running in the western line to Rome, Naples and south Italy.

Liguria is linked to the main international train lines from Nizza, Moncenisio tunnel, Gottardo tunnel, from Germany and ex Jugoslavia.

By ship

Genoa's port is the most important of the Mediterranean Sea for both commercial and passengers purposes. Ferry boats link Genoa with major ports in the Mediterranean Sea allowing to transport own cars to Sardegna, Corsica and Sicilia.

Tramp lines departs also from Savona, La Spezia and Imperia. Small ports in Liguria give shelter to yachts, sailboats and fishing boats.

By plane

There are two civil and one military airports.

The international airport of Genova Sestri "Cristoforo Colombo" (http://www.airport.genova.it) is fully featured and meets all international standards. It is always open and very close to the town's centre.

Regular flights departs to the main European and Italian towns frequently.

Villanova d'Albenga's airport is a touristic landing point with no passengers service. It just works for small planes and for flowers export towards Italy and Europe.

The military airport of Luni works as a turistic one just for turistic purposes whenever required.
